Golden Fish in Europe!

We are half-way through the year, and in the other side of the planet it is summer, which means Conference season!

Clara Obregón left last week for a Conference in Norwich, United Kingdom to present our method used to clarify the social dimensions of the black bream fishery in Southern WA. She also got the chance to present some of her results!

Recreational fishing was a hot topic this year at the FSBI, as well as research projects focusing on fisheries sustainability. You can check Clara's talk presented at the Congress here.

In September, Sarah and Clara will be presenting at the ECSA57 International Congress on “Changing estuaries, coasts and shelf systems - Diverse threats and opportunities”. Sarah will be presenting her honours thesis on the social dimensions of restocking the blue swimmer crab fishery in the Peel Harvey, which she successfully defended this month! Clara will be presenting more of her work on black bream.

Sharing our research results among colleagues and other researchers is an important part of our work as it provides an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas, methods and feedback on our work. Nevertheless, the Golden Fish Team is also very interested in sharing their research among other stakeholders, such as fishers, managers and the general public that is interested in our work. We try to attend to different local events every year.

If you are interested in our work, stay tuned! We will be posting some information on future event very soon!

Cheers,

Golden Fish Team
