Clara completes her confirmation of candiature

Clara did a fantastic job today presenting her proposed PhD research to answer the question "What are the social dimensions of the Blue Swimmer Crab (BSC) and Black Bream (BB) fisheries in south-western Australia and how this understanding can help secure the sustainability of both fisheries?".

To do this Clara will be long at the past, present and future.

Past: Determining if there has been a shifting baseline syndrome and historical changes in the abundance of BSC and BB in fisheries in WA.

Present: (i) Determining the social values of BSC and BB fisheries and (ii) Investigating socio-ecological linkages.

Future: Investigating the social and ecological viability of release programs for BSC and BB.

Well done Clara and excellent PhD proposal that will generate some excellent research and hopefully real-world outcomes!
